Rent and Eviction Loss Protection - Surevestor

One of the biggest concerns for landlords is whether their tenants will pay rent or need to be evicted. Since the onset of Covid-19, rent default and eviction rates have increased.

A tenant can pass a rigorous background check and consistently pay rent on time for months or even years. However, life is full of uncertainties such as job loss, health issues, and divorce, which can cause even a great tenant to fall behind on rent after moving in.

The eviction process can be lengthy, typically taking 2-4 months of unpaid rent, and it can also incur over $1000 in legal fees.

To help our customers minimize liability and alleviate the stress associated with renting out their homes, TouchPoint PM has partnered with Surevestor Insurance to offer our customers Scheer Landlord Protection. This insurance provides Rental Owners with Rent Loss and Eviction Protection.

Here's how it works:

The property owner pays $500 plus applicable tax per year (annually) for the following protections. If a tenant fails to pay rent and needs to be evicted, TouchPoint will file a claim with Surevestor to be reimbursed for any losses. Surevestor will then pay out the claim after the eviction process.

TouchPoint will still handle the coordination and process of the eviction on behalf of the owner, which includes working with the courts, attorney, and sheriff.
